COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

It appears that with the movement restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic being relaxed, we plan to re-open Pioneer Cottage on Wednesday 1 July 2020.  The Cottage will only be open from Tuesday to Saturday due to a shortage of volunteer door guides.

We urgently need more Visitor Guide volunteers to enable Pioneer Cottage to be open to the public for 6 days a week.  Please contact BHS if you are able to assist.

Since the closure of Pioneer Cottage on 17 March, BHS and Garden Club volunteers have continued to carry out improvements to the garden (with appropriate social distancing) and some urgent repairs and maintenance have been completed.  It is hoped to have these projects finalized during July.

History Talks

Interesting and informative History Talks are conducted on the first Saturday of every Third month starting in March.  DVDs of past history talks are available for a small fee.

Fund Raising

• Easter and Christmas Fairs
• Group Morning Teas

Soiree

An evening Soiree is held every year in December to celebrate and thank the volunteers, members and supporters for their efforts during the year, to keep Pioneer Cottage available for the community and visitors to enjoy.

Grants

Our organization would not be able to function effectively without the support that we receive from grants and donations. Our recurrent costs and some project costs are covered by grants.

Proudly Supported by the Sunshine Coast Council’s grants program

The Buderim Foundation have assisted us several times with grants for specific equipment items, the latest being a fireproof safe for the secure storage of historic documents.
