Photo restoration project.

Local professional photographer Ross Eason has been working with us on a project assisted by a Sunshine Coast Council Grant to restore the most significant images in the BHS collection.  Photographs and negatives from other sources which related to Buderim were included in the project.  Ross has now completed the first stage of this project and examples of some of his restorations can be found at the following location https://www.restory.com.au/2021/07/09/elementor-1151/

This project has inspired us all and exceeded our expectations, and BHS will continue to seek funding to expand this restoration work to more of our image collection.

A lot of background work by our project team of Janet, Geoff, Marie, Jess and Prue in sorting and classifying the images in a thorough and systematic fashion has enabled us to appreciate the value of the images in our collection and their depiction of past  life in Buderim.

The support of the grants team and cultural heritage group in Sunshine Coast Council is also appreciated.

Grants

Our organization would not be able to function effectively without the support that we receive from grants and donations. Our recurrent costs and some project costs are covered by grants.

Proudly Supported by the Sunshine Coast Council’s grants program

The Buderim Foundation have assisted us several times with grants for specific items, the latest being the provision of computer equipment. The grant was designed to help support the development of a research centre to complement future inquiries into the history of the Buderim community.
